NEW 2nd - 5th CURRICULUM!

Hey parents and kids alike in our 2-3 and 4-5 grade classrooms, did ya hear the good news? We are implementing a brand new curriculum for Sundays, and we're really excited about it! It will be a large group format, where we break into small groups by grade on a weekly basis. Eventually, it will include family worship Sundays once a month too! It even has take home refrigerator cards that can be used to remember scripture and for family discussions around the table about what we are learning...

Check out the curriculum at the following website:

take a look and be in prayer as we seek to implement what we believe will be a great new partnership between Sunday Children's Ministry, and your home of God-directed family time

God bless,
Pastor James :)

New Centralized Check in Procedure

Dear Parent’s,
We are now implementing our new “Centralized Check-In” for all the Children’s Ministry Classes. It’s easier for you, the children and the teachers. Here’s how it works;

CHECK IN
1) You’ll check-in your children, all ages (8th grade and under).
At the Children’s Ministry/ Youth Canopy.

2) You’ll be given a safety measure to match you to your child;

Nursery or Toddler Class
You’ll be given a label with a corresponding number to your child and diaper bag.*If your needed during service this number will appear on the overhead.
Pre school- 5th grade
Your child will be given a wristband with a number which corresponds to a number that tears off for you to keep.
6th-8th grade Vertical Connection
Your child can check themselves in at the Canopy and get their wristband, (no number stub) then head to youth group! Please pick up your Jr. Higher in the youth room.

DROP OFF
1) After checking in walk your child to class as usual.
2) Worship the Lord knowing your children are safe and are being taught God’s word at their level, by a team of awesome volunteers! All of our Children’s Ministry servants have been interviewed, screened, fingerprinted and trained.

PICK UP
1) Pick up your child in their classroom. Be sure to bring your label and/or wristband stub.(except Vertical Connection, Jr. High Youth Group) Children will not be released with out these.

NEW CHECK-IN PROCESS... PROCESSING

Thanks for your patience with the new check-in procedure. Every new system takes some fine-tuning, well, maybe a lot, but we really believe that it will allow us to be more prepared for any emergency that could develop. It also helps the teachers and their helpers not have to deal with the check in and thus, they'll be able to be more focused on running the classroom!

Jocelyn and I will always welcome any ideas you have on improving anything with the CM, so don't hesitate to leave feedback here, unless of course a complaint necessitates face to face or ear to ear attention :)

We are making progress, and special thanks to everyone who have been volunteering for the first time in the classrooms - you are definitely appreciated!
... and as always, continue to check back here for the latest updates and info.
God bless you!
Pastor James

Christmas Program 2007

Hello Calvary Church Family,

There has been a great response to our new Children's Ministry structure which relies on more parent involvement. THANK YOU to all the parents who have volunteered to be on a rotation in their child's class! I am very excited to be the new Children's Ministry Administrator during this time.

Everyone interested in helping in any capacity is invited to our meeting THIS SUNDAY right after church at 12:45. Pizza, Rasberry salad and drinks will be served. Kids are invited too.

After we eat the kids will play on the playground, there will be supervision provided, then the adults will have a quick meeting and break into groups by class to pray. We will be finished by 2:15!

Looking forward to seeing you there.

THE NEW CALVARY SLO KIDS BLOG!

Hello Calvary SLO Kids Community!

I wanted to welcome you all to our new Calvary SLO Kids Community, a place for the latest news, information, dialogue, etc. concerning the CSLO Children's Ministry! We felt that it was necessary to have ONE place where everyone involved (parents, teachers, helpers, parents new to the church and wanting more info on the heart of this ministry, etc.) could access all that is needed to be 'in the loop'.

We are in a season right now where the entire structure of the ministry is being recreated, hopefully changes that make it easier for all of us to partner together to create the best children's ministry for our children. And when I say 'our' children, I mean all of our children. Every person who invests themselves in the ministry has a part in raising our kids. That is why we consider this endeavor in the Spirit as PARTNERING WITH PARENTS to help children find their ultimate pleasure in God's greatness!

We will be posting here everything you'll need for pertinent infomation, so do check back regularly for handouts or messages you may have missed or want to review. You will be able to see upcoming event dates and info, hear from individual CC's (classroom coordinators), or submit parenting tips and the like that you have been blessed with as well... anything that matters to us parents and children's ministry helpers :)

Here's to a new year, a new beginning, and a renewed passion to serve these little ones who are precious in His sight,

Pastor James
